UK Offers 2,400 Visas to Young Professionals from India Aged 18-30
The British High Commission in New Delhi has released information about a new scheme that offers 2,400 visas to young professionals from India aged 18-30. The scheme presents a great chance for India’s most talented youth to experience the UK’s best, according to the commission.
The Young Professional Scheme, aimed at individuals aged 18 to 30, has opened the door to a wealth of opportunity for India’s brightest young minds. This scheme provides a unique opportunity to experience life in the UK, according to the British High Commission in New Delhi. Eligibility requirements for the scheme stipulate that applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, have a minimum of £2,530 (approximately ₹2.6 lakhs) in their bank account, and have no minor dependents.
Applicants must participate in a ballot for the scheme, with successful entries chosen at random and notified by email within two weeks. The scheme is free to enter, but applicants must be prepared to pay the necessary fees for a residence permit (£259, approx. ₹26,000) and healthcare surcharge (£940, approx. ₹94,000), as well as meeting educational and financial requirements. Successful applicants must travel to the UK within six months of their visa application.
The Young Professional Scheme provides a visa for up to two years, affording individuals the freedom to work and live in the UK, with the flexibility to travel in and out of the country during their stay. The scheme is viewed as a significant milestone in bolstering ties between India and the UK, while underscoring the UK’s commitment to the Indo-Pacific region and advancing free trade agreement negotiations.
