Obtaining an Ireland nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland ( is important if you wish to work as a Nurse or Midwife in Ireland.The NMBI is the organisation that holds the legal responsibility to process applications that help nursing professionals join the Register of Nurses and Midwives. It is not legal to practise nursing or midwifery in Ireland if you are not on the Register.
What are the eligibility criteria?
If you are a nurse aspiring to work in Ireland, you should commence the process by registering with the NMBI. In order to do so, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Qualification
GNM / B.Sc. / Post B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Nursing
Work Experience
Atleast 1 year experience in Last 5 Years
English Language Requirements
- OET – B in 3 modules and C+ for any One module
- IELTS- 7 in 3 modules and 6.5 for any one module
