Top 5 Reasons Why You Should Take PTE Exam
The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is a computerized test of English language proficiency that tests your levels of reading, listening, writing and speaking the language. It is trusted by universities and governments across the world, and by undertaking the PTE exam, you get a host of benefits.
Here are the top 5 reasons why you should take the PTE:
Many leading universities across the world accept the PTE
PTE-A, or the Pearson Test of English (Academic), is a test that demonstrates your level of English language proficiency required for Academics. PTE-A scores are acceptable proof of your English capabilities for many purposes, including Student Visa as well as PR Visa/Migration for Australia and University admissions. PTE comprises 4 modules, which are: Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening. The Test is completed on a single day, and the duration of the test is 2 hours 45 minutes to 3 hours approximately.
PTE-A scores are accepted by leading universities around the world, including the Harvard Business School, INSEAD and Yale. The Australian Government also accepts PTE Academic for visa purposes.
The PTE is a Fully Computer-Based Test
There is no human involvement at all required for the PTE, which is a completely computer based Test. It is considered to be a very fair test as it uses world-class AI capabilities to score candidates.
In the case of the IELTS, for the Speaking Module, you will have to speak to an IELTS representative in person. However for the PTE you have to perform all Speaking tasks using a headset, and your answers are recorded by the computer.
For the PTE Writing Module, all tasks have to be typed. This makes the PTE easier for those who have good computer skills. The Listening and Reading Modules have a mix of MCQ/Fill in the Blanks type of questions along with other question types. This is therefore a good test of your analytical/logical reasoning skills as well.
Easy Availability of Test Dates
Since the PTE Test is held on almost all days of the week, dates are very easily available. You can check the availability of dates on the Pearson PTE website – http://pearsonpte.com/book/. The process of booking the date is extremely simple, and there are multiple centers in almost all countries of the world.
Quick Turn Around Time for Results
You will receive your PTE results by mail usually within 5 business days of the Test date. If you are in a hurry to get your Visa, and do not have the time to sit for other exams, the PTE is the option you should look at.
Advantages for Australia Migration
If you are able to achieve good scores in PTE Academic, you can apply to top G8 universities in Australia and further your academic studies. In case you are planning to immigrate to Australia, you can get more points if you have completed the PTE with good scores.
