The required amount is NZD 20,000 per year for tertiary/English language/non-school study or NZD 1,667 per month for tenures less than one year. For compulsory education (years 1-13), NZD 17,000 per year or NZD 1,417 per month is required for tenures less than one year.
- Fully paid ticket for departure from New Zealand, or evidence of additional funds to purchase a ticket, demonstrating the availability of ample funds to leave the country.
- Proof of health and character, including a medical examination, chest x-ray, and a police certificate with translation if not in English.
- Supporting information, such as a cover letter or statement of purpose explaining the reasons for studying in New Zealand, the study plan, future goals, the choice of education provider, and details of past or ongoing education and training. Any gaps in education or work history should be clarified.
