Benefits of Studying in Germany

German university qualifications are highly respected by employers worldwide. The brand “Made in Germany” is widely applied mainly in two sectors- Education and Cars. Students across the world are highly benefited from Germany‘s long and famous university tradition, especially in the fields of engineering and science.

All roads lead through Germany

Germany is located very strategically in the global map. The country shares a border with nine different countries. It is located in the heart of the European continent and it is the economic and technological powerhouse of the united Europe.

Academia, Research and Industry network

German universities, spread all over the country, form a network of higher education institutions (over 300) with an unparalleled density anywhere in the world. Conveniently located near the centre points of interaction between industrial plants and scientific/technological research centers, these institutions provide opportunities that rarely exist elsewhere for students. It is also very easy for students to find employment upon graduation and live & work in the same city where they studied.

Academic Standards

The German universities and technical institutes are top-notch in academic standards. Technical institutes such as TU Darmstadt, RWTH Aachen and others have ranked as the best in the world. Similarly, the study courses offered in a variety of other disciplines such as medicine, law, social sciences and arts are also highly acclaimed internationally.

Research Funding

There are three main funding sources for research projects in Germany. They are: the German Government, the industrial sector and the European Union. This giant pool of funding allows researchers from a wide variety of disciplines to conduct research and development and come up with innovative solutions in their respective fields.

No Tuition Fees and Low Living Costs

The majority of German universities and colleges are state-financed. As of January 2015 they are literally free of charge, i.e. there are no tuition fees whatsoever charged in all public universities throughout the country. Higher education in Germany has also become virtually free and the tuition fees are entirely waived for all students with respect to undergraduate studies.

However, there are some changes that have taken place in this regard during the past couple of years. A relatively low tuition fee has been charged (the amount, around €500 per semester, was set by respective Federal States) citing the fact that it is necessary to maintain the general quality of services and the other related infrastructure facilities. Even with these tuition fees higher education is still significantly less expensive than in most of the other developed western countries.

German language can open many doors!

Approximately 185 million people worldwide can speak German. You can still study in Germany even if you don’t know German, but having some knowledge of the language can make everyday life easier and help you make friends and find job opportunities faster. Knowing a foreign language also looks great on a resume
